Meet Mike Bascom

Attorney Mike Bascom devotes his practice to estate planning. He helps individuals and families achieve peace of mind by leaving their wealth to whomever they want, whenever they want, in the way they want, all with the least amount of government interference and taxation. His clients include retirees, young families with children, older families with aging parents, and entrepreneurs with business considerations. His philosophy of estate planning is based upon a unique, forward-thinking approach that focuses on integrating each client’s goals and values with their planning needs. He enjoys providing caring strategic solutions.
Mike is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Florida. He is accredited by the Department of Veteran Affairs to assist veterans and their families in filing claims. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Courts of the Northern District of Georgia and the Middle District of Florida.
Mike represents clients in all matters involving estate planning, elder law, powers of attorney, wills, revocable living trusts, charitable gifts, irrevocable trusts, limited liability company, and family limited partnerships, health care advance directives, living wills, incapacity, probate avoidance, Medicaid eligibility, Veteran’s benefits, probate and estate administration, and trust administration.
Mike served three terms as the Chairman of the Georgia Forum for the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys. He was the organizer of the regional conference for the Mid-South Forum of the same organization. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Wealth Counsel, and Elder Counsel.

Mike earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree (Economics) from Brigham Young University, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
Mike frequently speaks to public and private groups on issues of estate planning, elder law, and veterans’ benefits. He has taught courses to attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, tax preparers, insurance agents, financial advisors, and registered representatives on estate planning and elder law topics.
Mike has served on the Advisory Council and faculty for Seniors Enriched Living, Inc., and he is the founder and executive director of the nonprofit Georgia Helping Hands Foundation: a National Heritage Foundation. Mike is the creator of The Asset Re-Titling Workshop™ and The Succession Team Training Workshop™.
