Bascom Law, P.C. is a trusted estate planning and elder law firm dedicated to empowering individuals and families to safeguard their assets and make informed decisions for the future. Meet Mike Bascom
Attorney Mike Bascom devotes his practice to estate planning. He helps individuals and families achieve peace of mind by leaving their wealth to whomever they want, whenever they want, in the way they want, all with the least amount of government interference and taxation. His clients include small business owners, spouses of small business owners, real estate owners, retirees, young families with children, and older families with aging parents. His philosophy of estate planning is based upon a unique, problem prevention approach that focuses on integrating each client’s goals and values with their planning needs. He enjoys providing caring strategic solutions.
Mike is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Florida. He is accredited by the Department of Veteran Affairs to assist veterans and their families in filing claims. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Courts of the Northern District of Georgia and the Middle District of Florida.
Mike represents clients in all matters involving estate planning, elder law, powers of attorney, wills, revocable living trusts, charitable gifts, irrevocable trusts, limited liability company, and family limited partnerships, health care advance directives, living wills, incapacity, probate avoidance, Medicaid eligibility, Veteran’s benefits, probate and estate administration, and trust administration.
Mike served three terms as the Chairman of the Georgia Forum for the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys. He was the organizer of the regional conference for the Mid-South Forum of the same organization. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Wealth Counsel, and Elder Counsel.

Mike earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree (Economics) from Brigham Young University, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
Mike frequently speaks to public and private groups on issues of estate planning, elder law, and veterans’ benefits. He has taught courses to attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, tax preparers, insurance agents, financial advisors, and registered representatives on estate planning and elder law topics.
Mike has served on the Advisory Council and faculty for Seniors Enriched Living, Inc., and he is the founder and executive director of the nonprofit Georgia Helping Hands Foundation: a National Heritage Foundation. Mike is the creator of The Asset Re-Titling Workshop™ and The Succession Team Training Workshop™.
Meet Brad Bascom
Brad Bascom is an associate attorney at Bascom Law, P.C., a boutique Estate Planning Law and Elder Law Firm. He helps individuals and families achieve peace of mind through their planning.
Brad earned his Juris Doctorate Degree in 2020 from the Georgia State University College of Law. He earned his Bachelor’s degree (Economics) from Brigham Young University in 2017, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
Brad is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and the United States Tax Court.
Brad represents clients in Estate Planning and Elder Law matters, including Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Asset Protection, Estate Tax Reduction, Capital Gains Tax Minimization, Probate Avoidance, and Estate Administration Matters.
Brad served as the President of the Estate Planning and Wealth Management Law Society at Georgia State University College of Law.
Brad organized and ran several workshops including one with a sitting Probate judge, another with Professor Mary Radford (considered Georgia’s foremost expert on the Probate Court system and rules), and multiple panels with local attorneys that specialize in Estate Planning.
Brad is a co-author on an internationally published article: “Powers of Attorney in Elder Law”, Lawyer Monthly, June 2022, pgs. 26-27, (UK). Brad has taught courses on a variety of estate planning topics including revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and probate avoidance strategies. Brad has taught other professionals about topics of complex trusts and a sophisticated Estate Tax reduction strategy. Brad was a featured presenter on a nationwide broadcast to over 200 law firms addressing the topic of operating a family run law firm. Brad is known for working with successful individuals that own businesses or real estate. Brad lives in Cumming, Georgia with his wife. They are the parents of three beautiful children. In his free time, Brad enjoys volunteering at his church. He also has a keen interest in technology and creating efficiency. Brad spent two and a half years living in Finland and is fluent in Finnish.
